In Galatians the oldest Christian manuscript Paul not only sets the precedent that the Message he is relaying is not to be contradicted at all by anything later or contemporary (i.e. James or revelation or the gospels etc) but also of importance is the fact that by the time this is wrote as early as 46 a.d. Paul already has very living churches all within some 20 years of Christ's appearance. This indicates that Paul had to have written some earlier works, Paul even mentions that he wrote prior letters. So we have proof of texts which we no longer have, so while there are indeed lost texts we luckily have Galatians to double down on authentic Christianity, i.e. Pauline Christianity. Meaning that clearly the earlier letters were compliant with that being preached by Paul in his letters to them.
