The day year principle is not only Biblical but also the vast majority of the leaders of the Reformation believed in it. Even the Bahai religion acknowledged it. This is fundamental to understanding Bible prophecy.

Thus when william Miller's prophecy failed even though he used proper calculations it exposed 2 things. That the Prophecies of the OT and Revelations are not legit and that when you mix the OT and NT the results are a disaster. Just take a look at all the cults these prophecies have created, and not only that they always tend to either distract us from Christ or lead into the false gospel of legalism.
