Epilogue

Three weeks later, a fragile, manufactured peace returned to California University. The shattered glass at the administration building had been replaced, the protest signs had been cleared from the quad, and the student body had moved on to the next campus cycle. On the surface, the campus crisis was over. But behind closed doors, the fallout was just beginning to settle.

Kelly Taylor stood in the newly renovated showroom of Mercedes-Benz of Van Nuys, the scent of fresh paint and new leather hanging heavy in the air. The massive insurance settlement check had finally cleared the bank, fully funding the repairs and erasing the physical scars of the riot.

But the emotional wreckage wasn't as easily fixed.

She had returned from Baja under a cloud of silence, slipping back into her routine as if those missing days had never happened. When Colin Robbins tried to confront her about what their escape meant, trying to hold onto the embers of their brief, intense reunion, Kelly simply brushed it off.

"It was a mistake, Colin," she said coldly, adjusting the lapel of her blazer as she looked out over her restored lot. "A moment of panic. Nothing more."

The words cut him deep, leaving him visibly shaken, but Kelly turned away before she could care. She was back in her marriage, back in her business, and determined to pretend the world hadn't almost burned down around her.

A few miles away, Brandon Walsh was back at his desk, his sleeves rolled up as he focused on his work and the next political cycle. The Vance media storm had passed, and Brandon was channeling his energy into structural university journalism, trying to keep his distance from the personal dramas that had fractured his inner circle.

Yet, the corporate machine was still moving.

In a private executive suite overlooking the construction site of the new California University athletic complex, Noah Hunter raised a crystal glass of scotch. Sitting across from him was the university Chancellor, her expression sharp and calculating. The paperwork on the glass table between them was already signed. Noah had hooked up with the Chancellor on a massive corporate business deal—Hunter Oil had officially secured the naming rights for the development project. By next semester, the arena would be officially christened Hunter Oil Stadium, cementing the corporate family's control over the university’s future.

But the ultimate survival story belonged to the campus’s most controversial couple. Jasper and Annie Vance had successfully weaponized the entire scandal to launch themselves into a whole new tier of influence. Striking while the iron was hot, the power couple officially packed up and went Hollywood, spinning their campus martyrdom into a lucrative independent film deal. At their exclusive studio launch party in Los Angeles, they made a grand entrance, flanked on either side by Matt Durning and Kelly's younger sister Erin Silver, who lent them the ultimate sleek, Hollywood credibility in front of the flashing paparazzi bulbs.

Things in Beverly Hills were finally getting back to normal. But in the lives of the gang, normal was just the quiet space between the chaos.
