[Summary:

While Christianity may intend to replace Judaism, Christianity itself does not need Judaism to exist.]

Christianity is not a reform of Judaism, rather a replacement, which was birthed from God Jesus appearing to mankind and the clear testimony through the Apostle Paul. To be sure Judaism itself has always been an evolving religious civilization (see M. Kaplan Jewish reconstruction) so it has always in some way been reforming itself and while Christianity may be a breakaway of such reformation the two are not compatible.

As passover commemorates the deliverance of the Hebrews from Egyptian bondage, the Lord's supper represents the deliverance of all mankind from the bondage of this world and thus represents the breaking of the chains of the daily yolks of bondage such as sin and addiction which enslave us all. Here is an important segue from tribal/ethnic exclusivity to all inclusive, from tribal god (Jehovah) to Universal God, a major usurpation certainly to be opposed by the religious authorities. As Christ replaced the Temple and it's priests as intercessor His role as intercessor is never dependent on the past temple cult, all things here are a replacement, not a reformation or even a reconstruction rather something new, a new creation birthed for us to become new creations. One that is available to everyone and is in no way dependent on the past but is a fresh true revelation made to clear up the errors of the past.
