God manifest Himself in Christ as an outreach to us, so that He can relate to us in our human condition, to suffer not only for us but with us. Because true relation requires reciprocity. God suffered on the cross to relate to man, encountering us in our condition, to be tempted and to suffer as we do. This is the love of God and the miracle of Christ. To paraphrase Emil Brunner ' Christians may debate the various miracles performed by Christ but we agree about miracle of Christ Himself.'
